“More Gains to Make” – Ryan Newman Aims to Further Improve With Roush Fenway Racing in NASCAR Season

In the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, Ryan Newman has had a sluggish start to his campaign. However, he managed to pick himself back up and scored a fine seventh place at Homestead-Miami. The driver even praised the Roush Fenway Racing team for their efforts.

Recently, Newman spoke to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio about the subject. He said, “Really proud of everybody at Roush Fenway Racing. Everybody involved has worked so hard. I am proud of the gains that we made at Roush Fenway, but we still have more gains to make.”

He then trained his focus on the coming race weekend at Las Vegas. According to Newman, the Homestead race was ‘closer to eight and a half’. However, he knows that he and the team are barely scratching the surface and there are plenty more areas to make gains.

What else did Ryan Newman say?

Truthfully speaking, the NASCAR veteran is hoping to eke out better and consistent results. Newman currently lies 20th in the championship but will hope that his 7th place finish is a sign of things to come.

Only the heavens know whether the 43-year-old can bring a fair amount of success to the Roush Fenway Racing team.

Earlier this year, he looked like he was a prime candidate for a good finish at the Daytona 500. Unfortunately, he got involved in a late crash which cost him dearly.

It was a crying shame, especially since he was seeking redemption for his violent 2020 crash. That particular accident landed him in hospital for a while.

Suffice to say, the Roush Fenway Racing driver was eager to make amends for that. The bad news was that things did not work out in that manner. On the bright side, there are still plenty of races left for Newman to prove his mettle and be a threat in the championship.
